Our ultimate objective is to raise children who are self-reliant and all-rounded members of society, able to maximise their potential, and input into creating a sustainable, nurturing, safe and non-dependent community.
We do this through a number of activities:
- Child sponsorship programme, in collaboration with Global Care International, which enables OVC’s to access education
- Spurgeons Academy (see related webpages)
- Provision of food baskets to families in need
- Provision of clothing items to families in need
- Assistance with access to health care
- Employment of a social worker to provide psycho-social support to families in need, and assist them in accessing further support as required on a case-by-case basis
These activities tie in with our objectives listed below:
- To reduce illiteracy levels amongst OVC’s in Kibera through educational empowerment
- To offer basic needs – food, shelter, clothing, love
- To reduce opportunistic diseases and improve health by increased immune system
- To produce all-rounded, productive members of society, and help in developing sustainable programs
- To support foster parents / guardians in order to contribute to integrating OVC’s into the community
- To undertake the psycho-social support to PLWA’s on how to live a productive, responsible life
- To assist and give the support to the Kenyan Govt, and the world at large, in the fight against AIDS through regular statistics
- To streamline HIV/AIDS de-stigmatization policy in SCCK operations, in line with the National policy
- To promote or assist in the advancement of any organisation / company, or any other body sharing similar objects to those of this agency
